Community Health

Maternal & Child Health Section
promotes the health and well being of women of childbearing age, infants, children and adolescents who are at increased risk of adverse health outcomes by virtue of financial, language or cultural barriers, or mental or physical disabilities by assuring access to health promotion and health care services. Among the many services offered: community assessment, planning, evaluation, outreach, advocacy, education, training, and policy development. Clinical health care services include nutrition, reproductive health, dental health, and primary care for children and youth.

Official Records, Information Changes, & More
The DPH's Office of Vital Records is San Francisco's official keeper of birth and death records within the City and County since April of 1906. The Office's other services include providing copies of records, making corrections and name changes, non-hospital birth registration, and passport information.
