Emergency Response

The Environmental Health Section maintains staff to immediately respond to hazardous materials emergencies that occur in San Francisco. The emergency responders serve as technical consultants for the San Francisco Fire Dept.

Hazardous Materials Team. Staff will also coordinate other environmental health emergencies.

Staff is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and responds only to calls from the San Francisco Fire Dept., the San Francisco Police Dept., or other public safety agencies.

If you would like to report an on-going incident that is an immediate life-threatening hazard, call 911.

If you have any questions on the Emergency Response Program, call the program manager, Richard Lee, at 252-3992 during regular work hours or send an email to richard.lee@sfdph.org.
