The 24-Hour Access Helpline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.


The 24-Hour Access Helpline is prepared to communicate with callers in any language. Translators are utilized if necessary. Providers are available who speak Cantonese, Spanish, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Russian, and other languages.


Services are provided to most individuals who receive Medi-Cal benefits at no fee or with a minimum share of cost. For all others, fees are based on a sliding scale.

Community Behavioral Health Services

Program Description

The San Francisco Behavioral Health Plan offers a full range of specialty Behavioral health services provided by a culturally diverse network of community Behavioral health programs, clinics and private psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists. Most people seeking behavioral health services need only basic counseling services. For those who are in need of more extensive treatment, the S.F. Behavioral Health Plan offers an array of services.

Population Served

Services are available to residents of San Francisco who receive Medi-Cal benefits, San Francisco Health Plan members, and to other San Francisco residents with limited resources. Services are approved and provided based on individual clinical need.

NEW! - CBHS Client Satisfaction Report Spring 2014


The 2012‐13 Client Satisfaction Survey was provided to clients from June 17‐28, 2013. The survey had 11 items to which clients were asked to indicate their agreement on a 5‐point scale, with 5 denoting "Strongly Agree" and 1
denoting "Strongly Disagree."

This document presents program-level profiles for all Adult/Older Adult System of Care mental health episodes in which clients had more than one ANSA.  The graphs present the proportion of clients who had Actionable Needs and Available Strengths at the two most recent assessments. 

The 2012-13 Child Youth and Family Client Satisfaction Survey was provided to clients from May 21st -June 1st, 2013. The survey had 20 items in both youth and parent versions. Consumers were asked to indicate their agreement on a 4-point scale, with 4 denoting "Strongly Agree" and 1 denoting "Strongly Disagree".
