Maternal, Child & Adolescent Health Section - Nutrition Services Nutrition Services, a section of the Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health Branch of the San Francisco Department of Public Health, promotes healthy living though education, medical nutrition therapy, nutrition resources, and support and referral for the diverse communities of San Francisco. |
Healthy For uninsured residents, the Healthy San Francisco program is a way to have access to basic and ongoing medical care. Any San Francisco resident can apply, regardless of medical conditions or immigration/employment status. |
Community Behavioral Health Services
The San Francisco Behavioral Health Plan offers a full range of specialty Behavioral health services provided by a culturally diverse network of community Behavioral health programs, clinics and private psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists. Most people seeking behavioral health services need only basic counseling services. For those who are in need of more extensive treatment, the S.F. Behavioral Health Plan offers an array of services. |
Shape Up
San Francisco DPH, in conjunction with three other City departments, are committed to answering the Mayor's challenge to Shape Up San Francisco. Through the Shape Up program, residents can learn more about healthy eating and fun exercise options through programs, resources, and workshops. From diet to exercise to preventative care, all San Franciscans are encouraged to take the Mayor's challenge! |

Symbol of Excellence for Food Safety On May 20, 2004, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors amended the San Francisco Health Code with the "symbol of excellence" ordinance, no.80-04,(1999-2000 bill number: sb180, author: sher), that recognizes the food preparation and service food establishments that exemplify high standards of food safety. |
