Green Business Programs

San Francisco's Green Business Programs encourage, enable and recognize businesses taking action to prevent pollution and conserve resources.

Principal Activities and Services

  • Provide a list of green business resources including auto body shops and repair, commercial buildings maintenance/hotels, marine repair, printing, and salons.
  • Provide free pollution prevention workshops, environmental tools, private consultation, and health education materials to San Francisco businesses and agencies.
  • Educate businesses about the Cities Green Business Program.
  • Provide compliance review for the Clean and Green Program and San Francisco Green Business Program for businesses that are permitted and regulated by San Francisco's Department of Public Health.

Clean & Green Program
The Clean & Green Program offers environmental assistance and awards to businesses and government agencies that are registered with the Hazardous Materials and Waste Program.

San Francisco Green Business Program
The Green Business Program is a voluntary program that encourages businesses to take actions that are good for their bottom line, the community and the environment.

Bay Area Green Business Program
The San Francisco Green Business Program is part of the Association of Bay Area Governments’ Bay Area Green Business Program—a successful partnership of businesses, government agencies, professional associations, utility providers, and a concerned public that assists, recognizes, and promotes businesses and government agencies that volunteer to operate in an environmentally responsible way.
