Laundry and Pet Facility Permits

A permit from Environmental Health is required to operate a:

  • Dog Kennel
  • Laundromat
  • Pet shop
  • Pet hospital

 

Application Process

Step 1

Complete the following:

  1. Go to https://myhealthdepartment.com/san-francisco/login to start your application
  2. Zoning referral (pdf) (Not applicable to existing laundromats, only *NEWLY* constructed ones)
  3. Fire Marshall Referral Form (pdf) (Not applicable to existing animal facilities, only *NEWLY* constructed ones)
 
Step 2

Send or deliver all of the above forms and include the appropriate permit fee to:

San Francisco, CA 94103

 

Additional Information

For all of the abovementioned facilities, a hearing for potential permit protests is required. The fee is $95 for required advertisement of the hearing.
