Flavored Tobacco

San Francisco Health Code, Article 19Q:  Prohibiting the Sales of Flavored Tobacco Products went into effect July 21, 2018.

A flavored tobacco product is any tobacco product which contains an ingredient that imparts a characterizing flavor.   A “Characterizing flavor” is a distinguishable taste or smell, other than the taste or smell of tobacco. The Flavored Tobacco Products Sales Ban poster includes descriptions and examples of flavored tobacco products.

Please refer to the SFDPH Rules and Regulations for Retail Tobacco Sales for more information regarding flavored tobacco enforcement and questionable products.
