Jim has over 30 years of experience in EMS. In King County, Jim served as a paramedic, firefighter, safety officer, infection control officer, training officer, medical services officer, and Chief of EMS. As the Professional Standards Manager for King County EMS, Jim oversaw training, education, regulatory and compliance certification and recertification for all prehospital care providers in the county.
In addition, Jim was the EMS online CE program director, for Basic Life Support (BLS) QA and cardiac case review. Jim is a certified instructor for American Heart Association, BLS, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and an expert in cardiac resuscitation and high-performance CPR. Jim speaks at regional and national conferences and works on State and regional system of care projects.
