Resolution:

Endorsing the Department of Public Health's Initiation of a Management Internship Program At the Community Health Network (CHN), January 6, 1998

WHEREAS, the mission of the Department of Public Health and the Community Health Network includes the teaching and the training of health professions; and,

WHEREAS, the Community Health Network (CHN) proposes to create a Management Internship Program for individuals who have completed their master program in Health Administration or a related field; and,

WHEREAS, this new CHN Management Internship Program will include experiences in all aspects of the integrated health delivery system; and,

WHEREAS, the diverse body of advanced degree prepared students from universities with healthcare management programs throughout the country includes many people who come from the communities served by the Department; and,

WHEREAS, the focus of recruitment will be to attract a diverse group of individuals to "renew our commitment" to minority recruitment; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Health Commission of the City and County of San Francisco does hereby determine that the Community Health Network of San Francisco's Management Internship Program is consistent with the mission of the Department of Public Health; and, be it

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Health Commission of the City and County of San Francisco endorses the Department of Public Health's Management Internship Program of the Community Health Network of San Francisco.
