Resolution:

Authorizing the Department of Public Health To Expend Funds and Add Staff Resources To Replace Grant Funded Home Health Contractual Services With Services Provided By City Staff (April 6, 1999)

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Health has received fiscal year 1999-2000 Ryan White CARE grant funds for home health services for patients with HIV/AIDS; and,

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Health issued a request for proposals to provide home health services through a contract; and,

WHEREAS, no bids were received from non-profit agencies in response to the request for proposals to provide home health services, and CARE funding is to be given preferentially to non-profit agencies; and,

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Health would like to continue to provide Ryan White CARE funded home health services; and,

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Health will provide these Ryan White CARE funded home health services at no additional cost than the amount allocated for contracted services; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Department of Public Health is hereby authorized to expend funds and add staff resources to replace currently funded home health contractual services with services provided by City staff; and, be it

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Health Commission of the City and County of San Francisco urges the Board of Supervisors pursuant to Ordinance No. 83-98 to approve the expenditure of funds and addition of staff resources to ensure continuity of services after the currently funded contract ends May 31, 1999.
