WHEREAS, pursuant to Joint Commission requirements, the Health Commission adopted Governing Body Bylaws which delegate to the Director of Public Health the authority, among other things, to act on SFGH Medical Staff recommendations regarding physician appointments, reappointments, termination of appointments, and the granting or revision of clinical privileges in a timely manner, and to resolve any differences in regards to such recommendations within a reasonable period of time; and,
WHEREAS, there has not been a formal delegation of this same authority to the Director of Public Health as to recommendations submitted by the Medical Staff of Laguna Honda Hospital; and,
WHEREAS, the Health Commission supports uniformity and consistency in the handling of Medical Staff recommendations throughout the Community Health Network; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED that the Health Commission hereby delegates to the Director of Public Health the authority to act on Laguna Honda Hospital Medical Staff recommendations concerning Medical Staff appointments, reappointments, termination of appointments, and the granting or revision of clinical privileges in a timely manner on behalf of the Governing Body of LHH, and to resolve any differences in regards to such recommendations within a reasonable period of time.
