Resolution: 08-05

Concurring With The Recommendation To Proceed With The Construction Of The East Building at Laguna Honda Hospital

WHEREAS, the Health Commission at its March 29, 2005 meeting approved Resolution No. 05-05 concurring with the Department of Public Works’ recommendation that the City proceed with the construction of the South and Link Buildings and any associated work with no scope reductions; and,

WHEREAS, the Controller of the City and County of San Francisco, at the request of the Mayor, prepared a report outlining options for how to proceed with the Replacement of Laguna Honda Hospital; and,

WHEREAS, the Controller’s report identified additional funding sources; and

WHEREAS, the Controller’s report outlined two options for proceeding with the replacement of Laguna Honda, both of which include proceeding with the South, Link and East Buildings for a total of 780 beds; and,

WHEREAS, the Department of Public works has solicited competitive bids for the East Building; and,

WHEREAS, the Department of Public works recommends proceeding with the East Building based on the availability of additional funds; and now therefore be it,

RESOLVED, that the Health Commission of the City and County of San Francisco concurs with the Department of Public Works’ recommendation to proceed with the construction of the East Building in addition to the South and Link Buildings for a total of 780 beds.
