Chinatown Health Center

 

"The Chinese Guide to Breast Cancer Resources" is the first breast cancer resource guide available in Chinese for monolingual and/or limited English-speaking people with cancer. The guide includes listing of medical facilities, public and community clinics, support groups, community services and programs, and instructions for breast self-exam.

 

The Cancer Patient Advocate and Visitation Program has recently trained Chinese-speaking volunteers--most of whom are cancer survivors--to provide one-to-one telephone calls and/or home visits for Chinese-speaking men and women with cancer. The program can refer a Chinese-speaking patient to a volunteer and is also seeking volunteers.
